Did you know any players who had played in Denmark before you came?
I knew a few guys. Anthony Aquino at the time who got me hooked up with Morten Blichfeldt (Hockey Agent Red.) and getting me to Odense and also Mark Lee (Esbjerg/SønderyskE) Jordan Owens(SønderyskE)
Had you heard anything about the Danish league before you decided that Denmark was your next destination?
To be honest I never heard about it before. However after talking with Aquino, Mark and Jordan they all spoke well about the country and their time in Denmark. So it made my decision easy at the time
What did you expect from your first season in Denmark?
I just wanted to get back to Europe and prove to some people that I can be a good player. Also I really wanted to enjoy hockey again. After playing on a team in NA that folded and not making playoffs in Dornbirn. Odense was a fresh start
The first time the Danish fans saw you was back in the season of 2014-2015.
At that time you played for Odense Bulldogs.
What made you choose to sign with the bulldogs?
I knew Ryan McDonough and Anthony Aquino who had signed there. So once I got the offer it was a pretty easy decision to make.
Did you think that you would be playing in Odense for such a long time?
[Ha]... well I never thought 4 years but I don’t like jumping around teams so I thought maybe if I played well they would sign me for a 2nd season next thing it turned into 4 seasons. Time flew by...
What did you like about playing in Odense?
It was comfortable. I felt like I got along with a lot of the danish guys there. The fans were always so kind to me and my family. The City was really nice and made it fun to the leave your apartment on off days. The organization and staff were always helpful and made it easy to transition back and forth from NA to Odense every season
For the last 3 seasons your name is always in the top 10 in Metal Ligaen, and it seems like you can play with whoever and still be top scorer.
Who do you think you had the best chemistry with in your time in Odense?
I was fortunate to play with a lot of great players. Rasmus Bjerrum and I really meshed well together through my 4 years there. We didn't always play together but when we did we knew where each other where going to be. Tony Romano and Sebastian Strandberg as well. Too bad they were both hurt during the playoff run when we lost to Gentofte
After 4 seasons in Odense
What made you want to sign with another team?
I think the poor result we had last season it was time for both parties to part ways. They want a fresh start with youth and I'm looking to help a team win "now". So I was lucky enough to have Frederikshavn contact me and get a deal done.
