Charlie Sarault: A couple og my friends have signed in the Danish League

RSC media team har talt med den Canadiske Angriber, som er den første nye import spiller der kommer til den Nord Sjællandske klub til den kommende sæson. Dette er første del, af det to delte interview.

1. First of all Charlie, Welcome to Rungsted, you come to Rungsted after an impressive season in ESV Kaufbeuren from the German DEL 2 liga. What was instrumental for you in choosing Rungsted as your next European team?
When it was time to sign a new contract, my agent had nothing but good things to say about Rungsted and the organization. He told me it was a nice city close to Copenhagen in a safe country which are things you look for as an import. I did a bit of research my self on google, and after seeing a few pictures of the area I was sold. I am looking forward to a new adventure in a country I haven’t been to yet.

2. How much have you heard about the Danish League? Do you have earlier team mates or coaches you have talked to about Denmark?
2- I had spoken to Branden Gracel about the league as he had done the same move as me from ESVK in the german second league to Denmark. Branden told me that it was good league, very competitive, with a good quality of players. He said that this was a great experience for him. After hearing a fellow Canadian say that, I thought I should try it out as well. Since then a few of my friends from Ottawa have actually signed in the Danish league as well, Riley Brace and Mike McNamee which made me even more sure about my decision.

3. You are a young man in the prime hockey age of 26. What kan Rungsted fans expect from Charlie Sarault as a player in Rungsted? Maybe a little about your strengths and "Need to work on" :-)
I think the fans from Rungsted can expect a very competitive player. I hate losing and always want to do everything I can to win. I am a two way forward, who works just as hard in the defensive zone as he done in the offensive zone. I like playing every situation of the game, either short handed or power play, I take much pride in both. I have been considered to be more of a play maker who plays the half wall on man advantages. If there’s a few things I would like to improve in my game it would be my goal scoring ability and just focusing on taking more shots on net to create more chances. Like I said I have a pass first mentality which sometimes can be a bit of a problem.

4. What number will you be playing with, or what is your wish ?
I haven’t spoken with anyone on the team yet about what number I’ll be wearing but the last two seasons I have been playing with number 57. Picking this number originally started because I use to wear the number 12 but this number was taken by are captain of my team at the time so I had to choose something different. I wanted to choose something that together equaled the number 12, and the number 66 in my head was out of the question because of Mario Lemieux, so my next option was 5+7=12 ? so this is where the number 57 was born for me. I wanted a strange number that wasn’t used very often so I could create my own legend.
